Two power Blocks are installed. Each consists of a 150 MWel condensing steam turbines with reheat (OEM Dong Fang, China),an air cooled condenser (ACC) and a circulating fluidised bed (CFB) boiler unit.

The main fuel for BMCR is pet-coke, but currently also lignite and fly ash with a heating value on average 340 kJ/kg.

Tasks: To evaluate the current efficiency and performance of SMP power plant. The comparison of the results with the design figures. Furthermore, the investigation of the current availability and reliability was performed.

Project description:

Feasibility study for installation of two new different cogeneration power plants for supply the required steam demand of the whole chemistry plant, inside the Chemistry Park Marl. Each of both the steam turbines operates in the required plant back pressure conditions.

Each plant comprises a gas turbine 42 MWel, a supplementary fired HRSG with water cooled furnace, a backpressure steam turbine and the BoP.

Priority has to be given to the steam supply into the whole steam systems of chemistry plant as well as the combustion, respectively disposal of chemical residual (tail) gases by following the required emissions by the authorities.

Tasks: Thermodynamic calculations, boiler design by using an own boiler calculation program, conceptual evaluations, preparation of a time schedule and cost estimation for each of the both plants.

TDD Toba Bara and TDD Kaltim Bontang in Indonesia, South East Asia

Project description:

Technical Due Diligence (TDD) regarding power plant proposals from Chinese EPC contractors for South East Asia, focused to coal fired units. Investigations by experience with respect to solutions of the proposed technology, which usually will cause significant problems during operation.

Tasks: Preparation of a so-called Red Flagg analysis, containing highlighted technical findings. The range from technical acceptable design up to an absolute no go has been clearly identified.
